The Ethiopian U-17 national team tackle their Malian counterpart in the 2017 Total African U-17 Nations Cup qualifier final round return leg game in Addis Ababa on Sunday. The Red Foxes suffered a 2-0 defeat in Bamako ago as they set their sight to turn the game around and qualify for the tourney which is due in Madagascar .
Ethiopia U-17 coach Atnafu Alemu believes his charges can rebound from their setbacks two weeks . “Our preparation has been good. We had a good preparation in Addis Ababa Stadium since Tuesday. , the adveUnfortunatelyrse weather condition and the playing field affected our preparation somehow. With this kind of hardship we are ready to turn the result on our favor when we play Mali,” alluded Atanfu.
The head coach further noted the Red Foxes will be deploying an offensive style of play during the duel. “It is different when you play at home and away so we must attack in our home soil to reverse the result. But that doesn’t necessarily mean we will forget defensive approach. We must defend cautiously too. Our motto is to score goals that could take us tohad Madagascar.”
The Mali U-17 national team jetted in to the Ethiopian capital on Friday. The reigning African champions a light training session today at the Addis Ababa Stadium. CAF has appointed referees from Niger to officiate the tie. Center referee Abdoulaye Rhissa Almustapha and his assistnats Maman Raja Abba Malan Ousseini, Amadou Bano Yacouba will arbitrate the Ethiopia, Mali duel.
