Premier League | The Emperors climbed to 4th with a narrow win over Dedebit

The match that was scheduled to be held on Game week 8 and was postponed due to security concerns, held today at Atse Fasildes stadium in Gonder sawing Fasil Kenema climbing to 4th with a 2-1 win over bottom side Dedebit.
Fasil Kenema head coach Wubetu Abate refused to use his Deluxe edition of players and opted to give some playing time for some summer recruits who were lacking game time, also giving the chance for clubs third choice golie Tewodros Getnent making his first apperance of the season.

Meanwhile Dedebit also made some minor changes from the team that lost 2-0 to Bahirdar Kenema.

Fasil kenema who were playing on home turf took the lead in the 8th minute thanks to Mujib Kassim who sloted home the ball that was not properly cleared  by Dedebit players from Surafel Dangachew’s long range free kick.

Fasil Who were enjoying majority of the ball in the first half extended their lead at the stroke of half time with their Nigerian Forward Eddy Benjamin tapping home the ball that was initially sent to goal by the youngster Alemberhan Yigzaw and saved by Rashid Matawsi, Eddy who started the match in place of the other Nigerian forward Azuka Ezu opened his goal scoring account for the northern Ethiopian side.

On the second half the visitors got the consolation goal through Endale Kebede in the 84th minute.

Following todays victory the Emperors (Fasil Kenema) Climbed to 4th earning 15 points with two games in hand if fasil were suppose to Win both games they may clinch the summit of the chart, meanwhile Dedebit Fc are still seating bottom of the table with only 3 Points from the possible 24.
