The Ethiopian Premier League round 23 games elapsed today with four games played across the country. Relegation battlers Dashen Bira failed to protect a two goals cushion as they were held by ArbaMinch Ketema in Adama. Electric registered a narrow win over Diredawa Ketema. Sidama Bunna and Ethiopia Bunna settled for a goal less draw while Hawassa Ketema and Dedebit played out a two all draw in Hawassa.
ArbaMinch Ketema came from behind to earn a crucial draw against Dashen Bira in a relegation dogfight. The Gondar side struck twice in space of two minutes after the recess to grab a comfortable lead through Togolese Edom Hosorouvi and Yetesha Gizaw. Amela Milkias pulled one back for the visitors before Teshome Tadesse restored six minutes from time. Dashen Bira have parted ways with coach Tarekegn Assefa and his assistant as youth team coach Tegegn Equbay led the side this afternoon in Adama.
Diredawa Ketema suffered a surprise defeat at home to Electric. Fitsum Gebremariam scored the only goal of the match for the two times Premier League champions. Electric’s win over Diredawa was huge for their safety bid. The win took Electric out of the drop zone as they occupy 12th with 25 points. ArbaMinch Ketema are 11th with 26 points. Dashen Bira plunged back to the relegation zone with 24 points. Diredawa Ketema are 10th with 30 points.
Hawassa Ketema and Dedebit ended their duel in stalemate. The Blue Armies took an early lead when Dawit Fikadu finds the back of the net eight minutes after the onset. Aschalew Girma leveled two minutes later. Dedebit reclaimed the lead in the second half through Nigerian Samuel Sanumi before Mujib Kassim equalized for Hawassa from a spot kick. Dedebit captain Birhanu Bogale received a red card after a second booking.
Sidama Bunna and Ethiopia Bunna played out a barren draw in Yirgalem.
