Unconfirmed reports emerging from the Ethiopian Football Federation has stated EFF decided to relieve the under fire manager Yohannis Sahle and his technical bench from their duty.
EFF has yet to give any official statement regarding the sack. Executive Committee member Mr. Alimira Mohammed told Soccer Ethiopia that he does not want to give any comment on the issue as Vice President Mr. Tekeleweni Assefa declared he is unaware of the conclave. Speaking to Soccer Ethiopia assistant coach Fasil Tekalegn said he heard the news from the local media. The coach further added he has not been contacted by the Federation.
Yohannis succeeded the Portuguese coach Mariano Barreto to take the helm of the Walias. A poor run of form in AfCON and World Cup Qualifiers and inconsistency in player’s selection made the gaffer’s days numbered.
The former Ethiopian international came under a heavy criticism after Ethiopia’s 7-1 drubbing at the hands of Algeria back in March leaving the large section of fans to demand his immediate removal.
