Dedebit coach Getachew Dawit sacked

News reaching Soccer Ethiopia claimed that Premier League side Dedebit have sacked head coach Getachew Dawit after the 2012/13 Ethiopia champions goes in downward spiral.

Getachew, who took the helm at ‘The Blue Armies’ at the start of the season, signed a contract with Dedebit from Higher League side Welawalo Adigrat University.

Getachew has tested a good result at the first round of the topflight league as he guided Dedebit to a second place finish. However, results have not been coming in the second round as Dedebit lost 6 of the 8 games they played.

The team have lost three in row, the last being against ArbaMinch Ketema in week 21. The loss against ArbaMinch Ketema triggered the club board to relieve Getachew from his duty. The clubs have axed assistant manager Daniel Tsehaye last week.

The clubs have not given any official statement yet over the dismissal of the head coach. Technical director Asrat Haile and youth team coach Elias are expected to take the helm on interim basis.
