Kidus Giorgis Trashed Ethiopia Nigd Bank as Woldia Hold Addis Ababa Ketema

Kidus Giorgis run rampant against Ethiopia Nigd Bank beating them 4-1 in week 15 of the Ethiopian Premier League tie. Addis Ababa Ketema came from behind to force a one all draw against Woldia in the earlier kick off.

Bottom side Addis Ababa Ketema entertained Woldia SC in Addis Ababa Stadium on Saturday afternoon as both sides share spoils. The capita city club were the dominant side in the middle of the park but it was the Wolo side who broke the deadlock first at stroke of half time through veteran striker Chala Driba. Chala fired home after Addis Ababa’s custodian Dereje Alemu failed to clear a cross properly. Addis Ababa Ketema came out stronger in the second half and they were on level terms after Dawit Mamo struck the equalizer.

Haile Eshetu was unlucky to see his beautiful effort sailing inches wide midway through the half. Both newly promoted sides take a point each as Woldia occupy 8th with 19 points; Addis Ababa Ketema are 15th, 9 points adrift of Woldia.

Ethiopia Nigd Bank suffered yet another heavy loss in space of 5 days following their 4-1 hammering by log leaders Kidus Giorgis. The Horsemen pile on the pressure since the onset while the Bankers struggled to cope up. Abubakher Sani opened the scoring in the 11th minute with a fine finish from a tight angle. Veteran striker Adane Girma doubled the advantage in the 24th minute from the spot after Bank goalie Muse GebreKidan brought down Behailu Assefa inside the area.

The two goals cushion were further backed by Salahdin Said’s quick brace in the 33rd and 39th minute as the record Ethiopian champions went 4-0 up. Nigerian Peter Nuwadke struck in the dying moments of the first interval but that could only be conciliation for the Bankers. The win leaves Kidus Giorgis at the summit with 29 points. Ethiopia Nigd Bank, with a game on hand, are 12th with 13 points.
