Week 20 of the topflight league elapsed on Wednesday with four games played out in Addis Ababa and Boditi. Table toppers Kidus Giorgis registered a win over the troubled Dedebit whilst Ethiopia Bunna earned a hard fought victory against visitors ArbaMinch Ketema. Ethiopia Nigd Bank and Wolitta Dicha also made winning ways.
Kidus Giorgis comfortably crashed Dedebit 3-0 in Addis. A moment of silence was observed for the late Ethiopian Athletics Father Dr. Woldemeskel Kostre, who passed away on Sunday after long illness.
Adane Girma’s penalty was saved by Birhane but Ramkel Lok fired home with the rebound to hand Giorgis the lead. Mentesnot Adane doubled the lead in the second half after collecting a pass from Salahdin Seid. Adane wrapped up the score two minutes from time.
The win leaves the Horsemen top of the table with 43 points as they march on their third consecutive league title.
Ethiopia Bunna needed to wait 75 minutes to break a very defensive ArbiMinch Ketema. Amanuel Yohannes broke the deadlock from close range as Bunna triumphed over relegation battlers ArbaMinch.
Ultimately Wolaitta Dicha has got a win after 5 games wait. Dicha has been involved in a barren draw on their last five games. Mesay Anchiso and Bezabeh Meleyo scored as Dicha doomed Hadiya Hossana 2-0.
Ethiopia Nigd Bank cruised past Diredawa Ketema in the last game of the round. Fikreyesus Teklebirhan grabbed a hat-trick with a dazzling performance. Fikreyesus is the third player to score a hat-trick this season after Dashen’s Edom Hosorovi and Ethiopia Bunna’s Sadik Secho.
