Kidus Giorgis hit the woodwork three times, but ArbaMinch Ketema denied them a win. Dedebit cruised past a struggling Dashen Bira side. Adama Ketema emerged 1-0 winners over Diredawa Ketema.
Table toppers Kidus Giorgis missed out a chance to extend their lead after sharing spoils with visiting ArbaMinch Ketema. Teshome Tadesse headed home to hand ArbaMinch a surprise lead in the 36th minute. The Horsemen should have to wait till the 77th minute to equalize through captain Degu Debebe who rose high to score a header. A brawl broke out between fans in Katanga section after the goal but game continued on.
The draw leaves Giorgis still at the top, nine points ahead of second placed Adama Ketema. Giorgis needs to win only two games to claim their 13 league title.
A second half strike from Michael George was enough to hand Adama Ketema the three points against Diredawa Ketema in Adama. The home side were reduced to 10 men after defender Souliman Mohammed received his marching order after a dangerous offense on Shemelese Abebe in the first half. Adama Ketema reclaimed second spot temporarily.
Dedebit were the big winners of the day with their convincing 4-1 thumping of Dashen Bira in Addis Ababa. The visitors took an early lead as Yetesha Gizaw did well to beat Tarike Getnet. Dedebit threatened to get back into it and they did with Dawit Fikadu netting the equalizer in the 29th minute.
It was inevitable a Dedebit siege and Dawit gave the Blue Army’s the lead in the 66th minute through a lovely header. Dashen fell apart and Dedebit took advantage yet again, this time around Nigerian Samuel Sanumi struck the third goal. In the dying minutes of the game the star of the show Dawit grabbed hat-trick to make the tie beyond reachable. It is the third hat-trick recorded in the 2015/16 Premier League campaign.
With the comfortable win Dedebit are 6th with 32 points while Dashen are 12th, a point adrift of the drop zone.
