Round 10 of the Ethiopian Premier League games were played today across the country as Adama Ketema, Fasil Ketema, Wolaitta Dicha, ArbaMinch Ketema and Ethiopia Bunna registered an important victories. Sidama Bunna were held to a draw by visitors Ethio-Electric.
A second half brace from Bulcha Shura proved enough to hand Adama a 2-1 win over Addis Ababa Ketema. Bulcha opened the scoring in the 63rd minute before Enyew Kassahun equalized in the 75th minute. However, Ashenafi Bekele’s side got a winning goal through Bulcha two minutes from time.
ArbaMinch Ketema carried on their astounding form with a 2-1 victory over Mekelakeya in Addis Ababa. Tsegaye Abera and Gebremichael Yacob found the net for the Crocodiles in the first interval. Samuel Taye reduced the deficit from a well taken free kick 12 minutes before time, although the Army side failed to reverse the score in the second half.
Fasil Ketema pip Ethiopia Nigd Bank 1-0 coursey goal from Henok Gemetesa. Henok struck the solitary goal for the Gondar side in the 27th minute with a wonderful effort. Wolaitta Dicha recorded their back to back home win at Sodo after beating Jimma Aba Bunna 1-0. Bezabeh Melyo snatched the winner in the28th minute.
Sidama Bunna were held to a 1-1 draw against Ethio-Electric in Yirgalem. Fitsum Gebremariam struck an early goal after Dawit Estifanos’s cross 11 minutes after the onset. Dawit should have given Electric a two goals cushion when he received a spot kick in which he squandered. Absar Beyene leveled matters in the 85th minute to salvage point for a very inconsistent Sidama Bunna side.
Getanhe Kebede scored his 10th goal of the season but his side Dedebit were forced to settle for a 1-1 draw against Dire Dawa Ketema. Getaneh gave Dedebit the lead in the 11 minutes after the recess. Habtamu Wolde restored parity in the 79th minute as the Easterners came from behind to upset the Blues.
Ethiopia Bunna interim coach Gezaghen Ketema won his first game in charge of the Addis outfit after the club fired Serbian manager Nebojša Vučićević on Monday. Ethiopia Bunna swept Hawassa Ketema aside 2-1 in front an avid Bunna fans. Asechalew Girma inspired the homers when he struck in the 7th minute. A foul on Asechalew in the 23rd minute rewarded Bunna a penalty. Team captain Gatoch Panom stepped up and successfully converted the spot kick. Hawassa Ketema pulled one back at the hour mark through Desta Yohannes. Nonetheless, they came short of winning the duel. Ethiopia Bunna’s forward Sadik Secho missed out a chance to extend the lead in the dying moment of the game when his penalty kick hits the upright.
Adama Ketema lead the log table with 21 points. Dedebit slipped to second with 19 while Fasil Ketema are third with 18 points. Reigning champions Kidus Giorgis tabled 4th with 17 points. Kidus Giorgis hosts Woldia in the last game of week 10 on Wednesday at the Addis Ababa Stadium. Ethio-Electric, Hawassa Ketema and Addis Ababa Ketema are dangling in the relegation zone with 7, 6 and 5 points respectively.
