Zelalem Shiferaw appointed as Mekelakeya’s new head coach

Zelalem Shiferaw is the new head coach of Mekelakeya, who terminated Seyoum Kebede’s contract mid-season finished the season naming Belete GebreKidan as their interim trainer in a dreadful season which saw them being relegated from the Ethiopian premier league after 15 years in the top flight.

Zelalem Shiferaw has today officially signed a one year contract with Mekelakeya and is expected to name his assistants in the coming days.

Mekelakeya who started last season very brightly winning two cups but eventually went on to be relegated from the Ethiopian premier league. the club is currently appealing for the Ethiopian Football Federation and is waiting for a final verdict calming that the way the team got relegated was against the principle of football.


Fasil Tekaliegn has landed his first full-time Head coach role

Bahir Dar Ketema who parted ways with Paulos Getachew has appointed Fasil Tekaliegn as their new head coach for the upcoming season. Fasil who was in duty with the Ethiopian national team has officially signed a one year contract with the “Wave of Tana”.

Bahir Dar Ketema, who has merely two players under contract have announced that they are considering about axing 10 players and are expected to extend the contract of the remaining players.


Dire Dawa Ketema extends Zenebe Kebede’s contract

The eastern Ethiopia side Dire Dawa Ketema who previously extended Samson Assefa and Antneh Tesfaye’s contract by another year also announced Zenebe Kebede’s contract extension yesterday afternoon.

As mostly seen in the last season Genanaw Regassa was the preferred player right back, Zenebe Kebede was struggling to regularly feature in the starting 11 and would be a good backup for the youngster.

Diredawa Ketema’s new head coach Simon Abay is also expected to announce new signing in the coming days in place of those players which were axed by the club.


Kidus Giorgis land former Dedebit duo

Kidus Giorgis who was very quiet in the summer window has landed their first signings, the former Dedebit duo Yabsera Tesfaye and Abel Endale will be representing “The Horsemen”. Both Yabsera Tesfaye and Abel Endale were brought from Dedebit’s youth ranks and was an integral part of the team in the past two seasons.

With the club’s new head coach yet unknown both Midfielders are expected to improve the creativity lacking Kidus Giorgis midfield.

Yabsera and Abel will be joining their former teammates Getaneh Kebede and Abel Yalew.

In related news, the club has extended the contract of Natnael Zeleke, Abdulkerim Mohammed, Saladin Bergicho, Lealem Birhanu, Ame Mohammed, Gadisa Mebrate for two years.


Wolkite Kenema under massive squad overhaul

Newly promoted side Wolkite who are having a very busy summer transfer window has captured the signature of two more players, increasing the tally to 7 players.

The latest Recruits are Dagim Nigguse and Abduletif Murad. the center back Dagim Nigguse has played for the likes of Halaba Ketema, Woliatia Dicha, ECWC, Sidama Bunna while the winger Abduletif Murad has played for Arada S/City, Hadiya Hosana while last season he had a very successful spell with Ethiopia Medhin where he scored 13 goals, Both players agreed for one year.

Alelegn Azene finally joins Hawassa Kenema

Alelegn Azene who previously agreed to join Ethiopian premier league champions Mekelle 70 Enderta but his transfer collapsed as both parties failed to agree on personal terms.

After his collapsed move to Mekelle, Alelegn finally put pen to Hawassa Ketema for a year. Former Arbaminch midfielder will be Hawassa’s second signing of the summer following Henok Ayele.
