​Brilliant Fasil Came from Two Goals Down to Hold Welwalo 

In the Ethiopian Premier League week 1 encounter in Adigrat Fasil Ketema came from behind to force a two all draw against newcomers Welwalo Adigrat University on Sunday, November 5.

Welwalo took a two goals cushion but the Emperor’s fought to earn a deserved draw away from home. New signing Mulualem Tilahun gave Welwalo the lead 3 minutes into the game from a spot kick.  The away side struggled since trailing but Abdulrahaman Mubarak’s goal bound free kick was well saved by Welwalo custodian Bereket Amare. Kedir Sali and Mulualem had chances to extend the lead prior to the break in which they squandered. Nonetheless, Kedir nods in for the second goal when Mulualem beats two Fasil player to set up Kedir.

The second half brought a superb Fasil side that went to equalize in the stoppage time. Bereket yet again called to action  when he deny Ugandan import Yasser Mugerwa at the hour mark. Two minutes later Said Hassan halved the deficit. The homers tried waste time as they eye maximum points in their maiden league outings. Nigerian forward Philip Dauzi came close to level matters in the 75th minute. Ex Ethiopian International Aynalem Haile turned in a corner to salvage a point for the Gondar side in the dying moments.

Following the equalizer Welwalo fans threw objects on the traveling Fasil fans. Some Fasil fans were injured due to the unsupportive behavior. The Welwalo home ground which is grass less is also not a proper field to host a game.
