Ethiopian torch beearers Mekelakeya will be hoping to register a better outing when they faceoff Cameroon side Yong Sports Academy in the 2017 Total CAF Confederations Cup return leg on Saturday February 18, in Douala.
Mekelakeya has not been in a great shape after failing to get good results last month in the Ethiopian topflight league. An Addis Tesfaye header in the first interval gave them the edge ahead of a tricky return leg. Mekelakeya performed better in first half as they were outclassed by their opponents in the second half. Team coach Belete Gebrekidan stated after winning 1-0 that his charges won’t defend against YOSA in Douala. “Since defending won’t help us in the return leg, we will attack to progress to the first round.”
The coach further noted YOSA is a strong side likewise should be dealt with an extra caution. YOSA coach Emmanuel Boossa claimed his team is ready to get the winner against the Ethiopian army side.”We will be preparing to rectify our mistakes in the past leg. I can’t really say we are going to to win but we will try to convert our chances.”
The duel takes place at the Stade de la Reunification de Douala.
