PL 23/24 | Ethiopia Niged Bank moved top of the premier league table

Last day action of game week 6 saw Adama Ketema and Ethiopia Niged Bank extending their unbeaten start to the campaign.

In the what was a very lively 3pm kickoff Adama Ketema came from behind to edge Ethiopia Bunna 2-1.

Ethiopia Bunna had the upper hand in the first half with their intense pressing forcing Adama Ketema players into errors but failed to capitalize more on their supremacy.

Anteneh Tefera who was on from the start for the first time this season gave Ethiopia Bunna the lead in the 23rd minute through his well executed headed effort, but three minutes latter Adama levelled matters through Habib Mohammed.

Ethiopia Bunna had plenty of chances in the first half to burry the game and also Biruk Beyene missed from the spot early in the second half.


However Adama Ketema striked back in the 56th minute through Biniyam Ayten in what was the match wining goal for Adama Ketema.

Following todays win Adama Ketema moved themselves into 5th spot with 12points while Ethiopia Bunna winless in their last four matches slide into 9th place with 8 points.

In the late kickoff Ethiopia Niged Bank thrash Hawassa Ketema 3-0 to claim top spot in the log.

Suleiman Hamid who joined Niged Bank from holders Kidus Giorgis produced a man of the match performance in his new advanced role playing as a right sided winger.

He netted twice in the 20th and 32nd minute while their skipper Fetudin Jemal added the other before half time to finish the business for his side with 45 minutes to spare.

The three goals conceded by Hawassa were the first they let in after four games streak of clean sheets.

The win meant Ethiopia Niged Bank claiming top spot with 14 points while Hawassa Ketema are 7th with 9 points.
