Tough day for Loza as Birkirkara were held for a draw

Three matches were held in BOV Women’s League match day 3 as the clash of the titans between joint league leaders Mgarr United and Birkirkara Fc end in a 1 all draw.

Birkirkara Fc made a single change from the side that hammered kirkop fc 7-1 as Jelena Sakic replaces Raina Giusti meanwhile their top scorer Loza Abera was once again named as there lone striker in their 4-2-3-1 setup.

Meanwhile Mgarr United made few changes from their side that defeated Mosta 6-0 at the Charles Abela Stadium on Tuesday.

The highly anticipated match between reigning champions and runners up  ended 1 all as a 28th minute Haley Bugeja strike that gave the home side the led was canceled on the 37th by Birbikara Fc central defender Ann-Marir Said free kick.

Loza Abera had a couple of chances in the match but failed to convert. Meanwhile the 22 year old British international Esther Anu who completed her move earlier today after an impressive trial stint with “The Stripes” was an unused sub for Birbikara Fc.

The other games saw Swieqi united beat Kirkop united 5-0 as Raiders Gharghu and Mosta played out a goalless draw.

After their draw both Mgarr United and Birkirkara Fc yet to be beaten have 7 points each leading the BOV  women’s league chart on goal difference.
