Walid Atta, 31, has left Saudi Arabian first division side Al Khaleej barely after a month citing problems within the club. Although, the player couldn’t stay longer in his birth place as he opted to leave the Middle Eastern country. Walid exclusively told Soccer Ethiopia that money and family problems pushed him out of Khaleej. “There were too much problems that I was forced to face in the club. I was not happy. My family wanted also to relocate to another country plus they were not paying me my salary on time. These problems made me leave the club. Plus when I signed a deal they promised me many things that they failed to honor,” Walid explained from his home in Sweden.

The ex AIK and BK Hacken defender further added he is on lookout for his new distention. “To be honest, I don’t really know which club I will be joining but now I am open for everything. Since the league season is nearing to an end in Sweden so I am certain I will be joining a new club soon. We will see about that when the time comes.”

In 2017 alone Walid joined three clubs namely Sogndal, Al Khaleej and Najran SC. He left Najran without making any apperances was he was loaned out for three months for the Norway club side Sogndal. Since leaving Ostersunds FK in late 2016, Walid has not been managing to settle in one club for a longer period. This scenario induced comparison with another Ethiopian international Fikru Teferra who piled for 14 foreign clubs since leaving Kidus Giorgis in 2005.
