Electric triumphed over stuggling ArbaMinch Kenema

Week 6 games of the Ethiopian Premier League elapsed, on Monday December 29, as Electric doomed ArbaMinch Kenema 2-0 on an early relegation dogfight in Addis Ababa.Electric got back on track by plunging ArbaMinch further into crisis.

Biruk Ayele came off the bench in the second half to give Electric the lead in the 77th minute through a brilliant header. Nigerian Peter Nuwadke sealed the win 6 minutes later with a fine left footed finish inside the area. At the end of the regular time the match referee opted not to point to the spot when Nuwadke manhandled by an ArbaMinch defender, instead gave Nuwadke a second yellow showing him the marching order. Electric players protested the decision later on.

The win took Electric to seventh with 7 points. The Southerners, ArbaMinch Kenema, seated 13th in 5 points from 6 games.

Week 7 games will resume on Thursday before the league halted for 45 days due to the Walias preparation for the upcoming CHAN tournament in Rwanda.
