Ethiopia to play Lesotho in Qatar 2022 preliminary round

The draw for the 2022 Qatar world cup African zone preliminary round has been conducted Today in Cairo, Egypt. Ethiopia is set to play Lesotho in between 2 and 10 September over two legs. 

Ethiopia and Lesotho were on the same qualifying group “J” in 2017 AFCON qualifiers staged in Gabon, the Walias were victories on both outings with 2-1 being the scoreline.  

Todays draw saw 28 lowest-ranked teams in the latest FIFA ranking tied to book a place in the 14 teams spot that is up for grabs for the 28 teams and those 14 teams will sum up with the rest 26 teams of better FIFA ranking who were automatically seeded in the list of 40 teams that in the near future will be split in to 10 groups of four, the winners of each group will earn the right to compete for a place in 2022 Qatar World Cup after a playoff match between them.
